Little Miss Clickety- Clack

Hello there!

It's Ms Clickety-Clack the Smart Cookie, Snoopy. That's what the Chief's taken to address my cutie-patootie-self ever since the growth spurt of me nails (thanks to all that horizontal meditation!) and the fact that I've not been very cooperative whenever the Chief tries to clip me nails.

I rather like being Ms Clickety-Clack. It adds character to my walk. Kinda like the Chief whenever she puts on her tall Clickety-Clack shoes (which she assures me is not very comfortable although it's cosmetically pleasing to the eye!).

So Clickety-Clack I go about Dog Woods. The clickety-clack of nails especially on the concrete floor heralds my arrival. Very useful if I want something, like a treat or two from the humans but not very good when I want to sneak up on a fellow pack member. :P

Yesterday however, the Chief decided to give me a pedicure and a manicure. She was smart this time around - she had me cornered so I couldn't clickety-clack any where. After the initial struggle, I decided that it was better to cooperate, which pleased the Chief immensely. I found, to my surprise that a pedicure and a manicure was really all quite relaxing - and snoozed throughout the Chief's clear struggle to clip me nails.

In my collection of restful fourty (thousand) winks, I could have sworn I heard the Chief gruntingly complain they (me beautiful long clickety clack nails) were hard as NAILS! Her humans paws were sore from all the effort of trying to shave them short.

Well! Nobody asked her to clip 'em. I was rather fond of 'em ... !

Am no longer Ms Clickety Clack for now - but I will be when they grow right back! :)

  1. Oh Snoopy - we don't like those clippers either and think being able to clickety clack is a distinct advantage
We are planning on a bit of nail polish for Rosie & Petey's wedding just to set them off.
    Too bad you got caught.
    love and kisses
    Martha & Bailey xxxx

  2. Our Mom lets the vet take care of clipping our nails, but since we walk a lot on the sidewalk and road, they don't need to be done too often. Glad to hear that you will once again be able to do some sneak pack attacks.

    woos, the OP Pack

  3. I do NOT like my nails cut either! In fact, Old Girl mostly files them to keep them from being too sharp then lets the booty shop cut them.

  4. Oscar here.
I'm not too keen on getting my nails handled either. Mom always has to do a mini-mani and pedi on me cuz I don't like to sit very long. She threatens me that she is going to paint them with nail polish if I don't sit still longer.

    Lots of treats,
    Tinkerbell, Oscar and Tucker

  5. None of us like getting our nails clipped. Mom lets the vet and the groomer take care of it. She says it's too much of a struggle to do it herself.

You are a beautiful girl with or without long nails.

  6. Hi Miss Former Clickety Clack,

I HATE getting my nails done... and absolutely refuse to allow my mom to do it. So I have to get in the Sugar Mobile and head to the vet, where I behave like a perfect angel and let them clip my nails without fuss! I'm kind of a brat that way.... glad to hear you are kinder to your Chief than I!

    xo sugar

  7. i loves me some bassets .. i played wiffs a couple of you's at the fiesta island place .. it's super fun - I like your doggy barks..

    Bell girl

  8. Hey! I just had a mani/pedi last night too!!! I got cookies afterwards. I hope you did too!! Nice bit tongue you got there!

  9. No one dare touch my nails, but I don't want to sound like I have high heels on.

  10. Sissy salutes you. We gave up on clipping; she seems to tolerate that Pedipaws thing better, strangely enough. Gretchen prefers the human fingernail clippers, which is all her little tiny nails need, so the Knight just has to juggle!

  11. sorry you lost your clickety clack status

mommy keeps our nails very short too

    woodrow sweetie mj

  12. Mom is sneaky when getting rid of our clikity-clack.. She takes us for walks on the road around the lake..
Mom can hear us coming since we have all wood floors now. No place to hide..

    Big Sloppy Kisses
    Gus, Louie and Callie

  13. I'm pretty lukhky: my walks take khare of mine fur the most part!

    Good lukhk!

  14. Hi Miss soon again clickety Clack

    smoochie kisses

  15. Oh I love being Miss Clickety Clack! I thought I was the only one! I have managed to keep my parents away from my feets lately, but I know I am in for a nail clipping soon too...

  16. Maybe your human will let you keep your long nails if you put doggy nail polish on them--NOT!! Whoever invented that stuff should be sent to the dog house!
    Your pal,

  17. My Vet cuts my nails every month! And I am not a big fan of that!
    Kisses and hugs

  18. Oh doggie. We think you just gave Moma an idea. We'll try our best to fall into forty winks.... sounds like it was an effective way to cope. Especially if there are treats at the end. Thanks for the suggestion. You've given us confidence.

    Jake and Miss Fergi

  19. Clickety-clack -- don't talk back! Oh, wait, that's not how it goes ...

  20. Woo! You Chief is really brave! Mom will never to attempt to give me a pedicure!!! Love, Dino
