Keeping Good Company : Another Snoopy's Post

Hello there good furry and fur-less readers,

Snoopy's reporting. Thank you for your kind emphathetic reponses. Our Top Dog Tuffy and the Big Chief is still away and although I've been kept busy with keeping the rest of the Dog Woods Pack in line, your kind warm virtual friendships has made the deep yearnings of missing the Big Chief and Tuffy a little more bearable.

I must say, it sure is good to bark out loud those canine feelings of 'missing' and 'loneliness' ... The Chief always tells us, that's being able to speak about one's emotions is having half the problem solved ...

Great news. I was told today that that both the Chief and Tuffy will be returning tomorrow. Woo hoo! Coincidently, am craving some treats ... Can't help it, I'm the sort of canine that eats when am happy.

Meanwhile, I'll leave the laptop running while I catch up on more of my beauty sleep ... must be looking well rested to give our Big Chief and TOP DOG a happy and warm home coming when they return. Although, its not exactly the most environmentally friendly of actions but its a good comfy feeling to know I have such good furry readers as company.

Snoopy signing out ... Zzzzzzz ...

Anna's Returned ...!!

Hello there gentle readers,

Snoopy's reporting ... since Tuffy's too busy wailing his sonorous love songs in front of Anna's den. Ah, yes speaking of which, Anna's returned. Good as new, as promised. No more worries about furry accidents ... baby sitting Tuffy's fur kids when they were little was hard work, believe you me ... there was once I had to guard a run away puppy ( who was merely 3 weeks old) determined to explore the world - but was definitely much too young since she couldn't even walk very far without wobbling ...

But I digress ! Tuffy, as I paw this blog, is still at his 'caterwauling' - I know, I know ... Tuffy's TOP DOG not a cat ... but really at the rate he is wailing it's really driving the Dog Woods pack up the wall ... what more say humans?!. Am afraid Anna still reeks of her seasonal fragrance and well, Tuffy's definitely all wrapped up in it.

It's been drizzling but boy, is thatTOP DOG determined NOT to leave Anna's crate! You got to give it to the dog for being so single mindedly dedicated!

Wait till the Anna's fragrance wear off and that TOP DOG there is definitely going to wake from her aromatic spell. Believe you me, I've seen it before ... It's as if the Emperor's suddenly discovered his not been wearing any clothes. In the Dog Wood's case, the TOP DOG Tuffy suddenly realises the silliness of camping out (rain and shine) caterwauling before Anna's den when there's alot of nice, scrumptious smelling treats out in the kitchen!

Am benefiting of course, with Anna in season. I get to eat all Tuffy's share. Woo Hoo!

But really, it's not like Tuffy not to skip meals or treats. Infact, he's known to shove me - yes, me, the Smart Cookie who taught him everthing he needed to know (talk about ungratefulness!), out of the way - when it comes to FOOD! I daresay, that's TOP DOG Tuffy's first love... eating. So fret you not Liliana ... we (Anna, Trixie and myself) call him the 'champion eater' ... he's may not be the tallest of dogs, but he's definitely one heavy dog! The Chief muttered something about having a crane to lift him - as she struggled down the stairs with him the other day ... I think she sustained some kind of back injury after that ...

Anyways ... we'll just leave the smell-bound TOP DOG to proclaim his undying puppy love until her runs out of steam or when Anna's fragrance runs out ... good thing the Chief gave me ear plugs ....

So gentle readers, if you do call by at Dog Woods and nobody answers ... yet you hear loads of heartful wailings in between happy yappings ... please understand that Tuffy is in 'toxicated' for a spell and the rest of us have plugs in our ears ....

The thing about the Weather

Hello!

It's Thursday with Snoopy this week.

Let me tell you a thing or two about the weather in our neck of the woods. While it may be the envy of some (who's presently experiencing cold, wet weather), the level of humidity of the tropics is not only giving us heat prone canines a hard time but also the for some pups who've got sensitive-r skin than others (like yours truly), it's a real pain!

Damp-ness and canine skin folds are rich breeding ground for pesky itch, somefin about yeast ...?

I once had long velvety ears as a wee pup but that sadly have been a thing of the past. To date, I've had more tests, pokes, prods and jabs from the V-E-T than all Dog Woods Pack put together. He's since concluded, apart from the yeast infection, I also have a certain allergy to the Grass! How terrible ... when that's the nicest thing to roll about in!

The Chief too has tried her best to get my ears back to what it once was. She's tied my ears up (like a wabbit I looked!) when I had my meals, she even got me special tall food bowls, changed my diet, got me special shampoos, powders ... I won't say her efforts were not in vain, the other angry red itchy folds around my body have since healed but sadly, not my ears. *Boo Hoo!*

What the Chief's not tried yet is change the weather at Dog Woods ... making it less humid. That would mean keeping me in the air-conditioned rooms indoors 24/7 and I don't think I like that at all ! I love running around out doors unleashed, wrestling with Tuffy, lolling about with the Fur Kids way too much!

Beautiful long velvety ears or Freedom? I'd choose Freedom any time!! I've accepted the fact that I'll never be SHOW DOG material ... but I sure am a Happy Basset!

Arf! I blink-ed!

Snoopy's Bow-wows

Wo0aaah!!

Me be Snoopy - the Smart Cookie. I've given Tuffy notice that from now onwards, I would paw my nibble worth of bow-wows - at least a couple times a week.

Tuffy may be TOP DOG of Dog Woods but, I - Snoopy Smart Cookie am the reigning DOG WOODS PREFECT! I keep everyone in check from the TOP DOG, the Ferocious Prized Rottweiller(Joe), Intimidating Demon Dog (Anna) and Tenacious Malinois (Trixie) ...

That's what the BIG CHIEF have assigned me to do ... and I shall adoringly OBEY! *lick*lick*lick*

I may be the Shortest and Stumpiest out of the Dog Woods Pack with Fur Kids quickly outgrowing me and annoyingly bad skin, but that hasn't stop me from Prefecting my job. Size, grim looks, gender or how fast a pooch can run does not intimidate me the least bit! My deliberate, plodding presence never fails to AWE - even the TOP DOG of Dog Woods.

Furthermore, being a Basset of a few barks (compared to the very bow-wow-ful Tuffy), my Loud WOAH! Barks would stop any wayward Pack, mischevious Fur Kid or encroaching HUMAN in tracks ...

Judging from how quickly they (The Pack and Fur Kids) scuttle into deference, I daresay I am the only Canine in Dog Woods that has the unique ability to ROAR!!! Which explains why am PERFECTly effective for the Prefect ROLE.

I am however, not always this prefectly formidable. I have to admit I have a soft furry spot for my nieces and nephews - Tuffy's Fur Kids. They keep me occupied most afternoons with teaching them tricks that I've concocted and mastered .. they don't call me smart cookie for nothing!
