A few spots of bother ...

Hello there good furry and fur-les readers,

We had a spot of connection problem recently. The Chief suspects, the thunder storms that we've been getting fried some of the internal wirings. Anywoos. We're much pleased that it's all fixed now ... our telecom service is really improving! :)

The Chief is back to her ol' self. She's much too busy managing us lot and running Dog W0ods on her own to dwell on bygones. We be much pleased we're getting our dose of affection and attention... however on the down side, she's on a ' fumigating' mode.

Pesky TICK !
She found A tick on Fur Kid Brandi yesterday - possibly legacy of her great adventure last week.

Itching Brandi

The Chief being Chief, decide it was nobel cause to get rid of not only that ONE tick but also to repel and kill all ticks, fleas and blood sucking parasites - presently discovered or to be discovered. We poor Dog Woods Pack suffered the noxious (makes us sneeze) spray of Kilpest! No joy, I tell you.

Honestly, what is ONE tick compared to a gadzillion bacteria and microbe that's ever present on our environment?! No disinfectant can ever get rid of 'em. We honestly think the Chief's paranoid ... but our human has her own arguments. Which we unfortunately, simply cannot rebut. She said, we'd be healthier in the long run. No itchy bouts, no passing of ailments and diseases ... and so we grudgingly relent. Not that we're given choice ... :P

Fumigation only happens if and when it's required - however, we canines rather it NEVER! If that's not bad enough, there's also Chief's Bug-Free spray that keeps all manner of flies and mozzies away ...

Really... if we were all brave enough we'd secretly bury all of the Chief's noxious sprays - but it's so intimidatingly foul (to us canines that is) that not one of us want to paw or even lick those bottles - not even if we were bribed with treats! :P

Suppose in the long term, we stand to gain? That's what the Chief assures us ... So we'd grit our toothies and bear it out .... *atchooo!*

  1. Hi Tuffy & Gang,
I think you're right, humans are much more bothered by the sight of a tick on us than we are!
Has your human ever tried Frontline or one of the other topical meds? It works pretty well for me.
    Your pal,

  2. Ooh--I hate ticks! I had TWO last month, and Old Girl knocked herself out trying to get rid of them. Hope yours are gone for good!

  3. Oh bother... our mommy puts gunckies on us every month to keep off the buggies. So we don't have to get sprayed. Except with vanilla and water, the mommy say that's a natural deterent for buggies. 'Put some on you then mommy' and she does!!!

  4. hope everyone is okay - we get sprayed all the time - our mommy worries alot about ticks

  5. Ticks are icky. If the Chief left them to get all big and nasty, they'd bother you, and even a quick bite from one can make you sick... both Mugsy (my departed Jack Russell) and I had Lyme's Disease, and it's NO FUN.

  6. Oh we hate ticks! They ar a problem in Scotland at this time of year for us dogs - especially when we like to walk in the woods.
We know you dont like it but let the Chief do what she can to keep them at bay.

  7. Our mom hates ticks, too. That's why she insists on putting that stinky stuff on our backs each month. We try to hide but she thought up this game and it involves lots of treats. But, to get a treat you have to let her put the stuff on first, then you get the treats. No fair!!

  8. ACHHHHHHHHHH ticks?! The horror is finding a tick! I think your Chief has done the right thing and sprayed you all... I know it's no fun but ticks ICK!

  9. Hold your nose when the Chief is on the bug kick. That's what we have to do with Jan. She hates it and only does it when she has to too.

  10. Mom doesn't like those ticks at all. They give her the heebie jeebies.. Good job mom. Kill um..

  12. We don't have ticks where we live, but do run into on some of our hikes - so we get Frontline Plus. Fortunately, only a couple of months a year because it is too cold the rest of the year. Yeah!

  13. Ticks! Ewww!
I hope you get rid of them!
    Kisses and hugs

  14. Stay away from all those sprays and such nonsense. Hold your breath. Remember though that the Chief has your best interest at heart.

  15. Oh our mom HATES ticks/ fleas too and becomes parnoid and goes into full 'ATTACK' mode when she spots one. We know how you feel buddy.. hang in there.

  16. We wondered where you were hiding out. We get our monthly doses of Frontline Plus and Interceptor to keep all the pests away. I don't mind it at all but Phantom runs and hides in his crate as soon as he knows they are on the counter. But we both know they are really good for us.

    Woo, Thunder

  17. Ewwwww, ticks frighten me. They're not even furry or anything! Just plain ewwwwww!

  18. Humans are funny about the wild life we bring home.

  21. Woooo, I HATE sprays, too! I don't like that pssss sound, it irritates me.

  22. Mom found a flea on Paris when she got back from the groomers last week, so it was Advantage across the board!
